Five years and still going, the ZhangBei InMusic Festival – the festival that keeps on trucking despite their considerable lack of promotion and \’out in the boondocks\’ location, is back for another rustle in the hay come the end of the month. Situated four hours out of town, in the grasslands, close to Inner Magnolia, the three day festival, which lasts from Friday, July 26th to Sunday, July 28th, looks like it\’s scaling back instead of trying to overstuff their festival with big names, multiple stages, and straight up chaos – which might seem like step backwards – but really, I find it refreshing and smart (even business savvy) as if organizations around China are starting to get the picture and not bite off more than they can chew. So instead, we have a solid lineup of local bands as well as a few big asian names, most notably MONO, out of Japan, and Soadgreen out of Taiwan, as well as Swedish post rockers pg.lost, who if you remember, released a split LP with Wang Wen late last year. Not too mention a \’who\’s who\’ in Beijing electronic scene. But again, I\’m digging what I see so far, let\’s just hope organizers can handle the rest.Tickets are 150 per day presale , and 180 at the door, and 400 presale for the three days, 500 at the door – grab those tricks here. Each day kicks off at 1:30pm with DJs enter the scene at around 7pm.
