OTS: Chinese Football (School 04.12.2015)

Sick as a dog, and already in dig at the Nasty Wizard Recordings’ tape release show for Round Eye and Sierra Leon – it was highly unlikely that I was going to make it over to School Bar to catch Chinese Football, the Wuhan-based indie emo rock outfit whose debut had been spinning in the head for months. However, after seeing a wechat post from a buddy of mine at the show – I decided to race on over to catch the band in the flesh, if even for just one song. Luckily, the band had no intentions are giving a short set and I was treated to thirty plus minutes from the band, who simply put, were spot on. One of the tightest acts I’ve seen this year – composed, attentive, energetic, and proficient – and not missing a beat.

It was everything I could hope for – an acknowledgement that the band I had fallen in love with on record was in fact made in the flesh, and not in some studio. Phew! Check out more videos and pictures below.
